Filter design for MIMO sampling and reconstruction

چکیده
We address the problem of FIR equalizer filter design for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) linear time-invariant channels with uniform sampling at the channel outputs. This scheme encompasses Papoulis’ generalized sampling and several nonuniform sampling schemes as special cases. The input signals are modeled as either continuous-time or discrete-time multi-band input signals, with different band structures. We derive conditions on the channel and the sampling rate that allow perfect inversion of the channel. Additionally, we derive a stronger set of conditions under which the equalizer filters can be chosen to be continuous functions of the frequency variable. We also provide conditions for the existence of FIR perfect reconstruction filters, and when such do not exist, we address the optimal approximation of the ideal filters using FIR filters and a min-max end-to-end distortion criterion. The design problem is then reduced to a standard semi-infinite linear program. An example design of FIR equalizer filters is given.

Sub-nyquist Multicoset and Mimo Sampling: Perfect Reconstruction, Performance Analysis, and Necessary Density Conditions By
We study two sub-Nyquist sampling schemes for multiband signals known as multicoset sampling and multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) sampling. A multiband signal is one whose Fourier transform is supported on a set F ⊆ R consisting of a finite union of intervals. Unlike uniform sampling, multicoset sampling allows perfect reconstruction of a multiband input at sampling rates arbitrarily clos...

We examine a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) sampling scheme for a linear time-invariant continuous-time MIMO channel. The input signals are modeled as multiband signals with different spectral supports, and the channel outputs are sampled on either uniform or periodic nonuniform sampling sets, with possibly different but commensurate intervals on the different outputs. This scheme encomp...

In this paper, a novel technique for the design of two-channel Quadrature Mirror Filter (QMF) banks with linear phase in frequency domain is presented. To satisfy the exact reconstruction condition of the filter bank, low-pass prototype filter response in pass-band, transition band and stop band is optimized using unconstrained indirect update optimization method. The objective function is form...

We consider a sampling scheme where a set of multiband input signals are passed through a MIMO liner time-invariant system and the outputs are sampled. MIMO sampling is a very general scheme that encompasses various other schemes, including Papoulis’ generalized sampling and nonuniform sampling as special cases. We present necessary density conditions for stable MIMO sampling. These results gen...
متن کاملReconstruction of Nonuniformly Sampled Bandlimited Signals by Means of Time-Varying Discrete-Time FIR Filters
This paper deals with reconstruction of nonuniformly sampled bandlimited continuous-time signals using time-varying discretetime finite-length impulse response (FIR) filters. The main theme of the paper is to show how a slight oversampling should be utilized for designing the reconstruction filters in a proper manner. Based on a time-frequency function, it is shown that the reconstruction probl...
